The following guidelines will govern the magazine:

1. Content should conform to the rules of the magazine & this website.  (click here to see the Rules)

2. Articles for the magazine should be at least 250 and no more than 1000 words in length (a range of 1 to 4 double-spaced pages). Articles in the following categories can be up to 2000 words, depending on the subject matter covered: (a) features and profiles; (b) travel guides; (c) international boylove. Please consult with me if your article looks like it will be longer than 1000 words.

3. Articles should be proofread before submission, and necessary corrections made in advance. (If you want assistance proofreading your article, please contact me by email.) Articles posted with multiple proofreading errors will need to be withheld for editing.

When you submit an article, please include the following information at the top of your email:

  • Category
  • Title
  • Name
  • (Display name on a BL forum, or another desired name)

In selecting a category, please choose one of the following subject areas:

  • Features and Profiles
  • International Boylove Day Observations - Experiences and thoughts relating to IBLD
  • Boy Sports, Activities, and Recreation
  • Boys and Health
  • Boy Fashion
  • Eating With Boys
  • Boy Toys and Technology
  • Boys and Work - for those whose work involves boys, but also for discussion of boys who work
  • Adults and Boys Together - stories about a specific relationship between an adult and a boy
  • Boys and Boylove in History - for discussion of boys and boylove in times before our own
  • Youth Boylover Reflections - for boylovers under the age 18
  • International Boylove - boylove outside of the United States, the Commonwealth, and Europe
  • Boy-related Travel
  • Editorial Essays - opinions about on any aspect of boylove, or boylove as a movement
  • Art, Entertainment and Book Reviews
  • Boy-related Humor
  • Creative Work - poetry, graphics, music links, etc. (non fiction is preferred, however)
  • Boy Moments
  • Boylover Reflections
  • BL Forum Memories
  • BL Forum Tributes

These categories will provide the structure for the table of contents in the first thread of the magazine post. These subject areas can each cover a lot of ground. For example, the 'feature pieces or profiles' category could include a story about a particular boy actor; or an interview with a member of a BL forum; or an autobiographical reminiscence. 'Travel guides' could describe an ideal or fun location for a boy (or a boylover) to travel during the winter months, or during the summer months when it comes time for the next issue.

In addition to thinking about a contribution that you would like to make, please feel free to make suggestions for particular articles that you would like to see and/or write.

Non-fiction articles are strongly preferred over creative pieces.
